A Sculpture made out of glass and stoneware ceramic. The raku process involves subjecting each piece to extreme temperatures of up to 1830 F degrees, removing it red hot from the kiln and placing it in a container filled with combustible materials. The thermal shock causes the glazes to crack and the smoke allows carbon to penetrate into the cracks and unglazed areas. The deprivation of oxygen allows coppers and lusters to form in the glaze sometimes with stunning and often unpredictable results.
